Provident Supports Prostate Cancer Awareness at Korle Bu

Provident Insurance supported a prostate cancer awareness and screening drive at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, encouraging men to test early.

Provident Insurance lent its support to a prostate cancer awareness and screening initiative at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in Accra, encouraging men — especially those over 40 — to get tested early and regularly.

Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers among Ghanaian men, yet it is highly treatable when caught early. The exercise combined free screening with education on risk factors, symptoms and the importance of routine checks.

Provident's involvement is part of a wider corporate social responsibility programme that has included breast cancer screening in the Ashanti Region and ongoing community health support. The company sees these partnerships as a natural extension of its "you're covered" promise.

Provident commended the medical staff at Korle Bu and urged the public to take advantage of screening opportunities, noting that prevention and early detection protect not just individuals but the families who depend on them.
