What does goods-in-transit insurance cover?

GIT covers your goods against accidental loss or damage in transit — including fire, collision, overturning of the carrying vehicle, and theft — from the moment they are loaded until they are delivered. Cover applies to carryings in your own fleet or by hauliers you engage, and limits can be set per vehicle and per transit.

How is it different from marine cargo?

Marine cargo typically covers international shipments by sea or air; goods-in-transit covers inland road movements within Ghana. Businesses that both import and distribute often hold both: marine to bring goods into the country and GIT to move them around it.
