What does marine cargo insurance cover?

Marine cargo covers your goods against loss or damage in transit — by sea, air or road — from the point of loading to the agreed destination. Cover can be arranged on standard Institute Cargo Clauses, on a single shipment or an annual open cover for regular traders, and typically responds to perils such as sinking, collision, fire, jettison, theft and handling damage.

Do I need marine insurance to import into Ghana?

Marine cover is strongly advised for any import, and proof of local marine insurance is often required for customs clearance. Insuring locally with Provident means your claim is handled and paid in Ghana, in cedis, by a team you can reach.
